First, the purpose of a course in the ancient art of rhetoric is to get you to think more deeply about this art. Rhetoric is first and foremost a way of thinking. As we get used to thinking about things rhetorically, we also start to learn how to apply that way of thinking culminating with the Senior Thesis.
